What are skin boosters?
Profhilo® Skin boosters are a unique and powerful addition as a targeted injectable treatment for anyone who has loose skin which is crepey in appearance. It is also a very successful treatment in the prevention of premature ageing, to stimulate collagen production. This treatment nourishes the dermal cells, restoring elasticity and hydration to the skin, improving the condition of the skin at both cellular and superficial levels. Two treatments are needed, four weeks apart for optimal results.
HArmonyCa® is a hybrid dermal filler with collagen stimulation. The perfect solution for those clients who need a lift together with a boost to their collagen production. A single treatment only is needed.

In my 15 years of practice, I’ve watched the evolution of aesthetic treatments, and skin boosters—including the revolutionary polynucleotides treatment—are genuinely one of the most exciting developments I’ve seen. During our consultation, I consider several factors:

- 20s-30s: Often polynucleotides for prevention

What Treatment Actually Feels Like
I believe in being completely honest about what you’ll experience:
The consultation: Takes 30-45 minutes. We’ll examine your skin closely, discuss your goals, and I’ll explain exactly what each treatment can and can’t do.
During treatment: I use the finest needles available and can apply numbing cream if you prefer. Most clients describe it as minor discomfort — less painful than a blood test.
Immediately after: Some redness and possible slight swelling for 24-48 hours. You can return to work the same day.
Results timeline:
- Profhilo: Immediate hydration, full results in 4-6 weeks
- Polynucleotides: Gradual improvement over 8-12 weeks
- HArmonyCa: Some immediate effect, full results over 3-6 months
Common Questions I’m Asked
“Will people know I’ve had something done?” This is exactly why I love skin boosters. The changes are gradual and natural. People will notice you look refreshed, but won’t be able to pinpoint why.
“Are they safe?” Absolutely. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in your body, and polynucleotides are biocompatible. I’ve been using these treatments for years with excellent safety records.

What To Expect from your Skin Booster Treatment
BEFORE AND DURING TREATMENT:
- 7 days prior to treatment and up to 4 days after treatment, it is recommended to avoid ibuprofen, aspirin or any other blood thinning medication unless for a medical condition
- Avoid alcohol 4 days prior to treatment and 4 days after treatment
- Please research this further if relative to you but 7 days prior to treatment and up to 4 days after treatment it is recommended to avoid some supplements i.e. Aloe, Feverfew, Fish Oil, Gingko, Turmeric, Chamomile, Red Clover, Dong Quai, Evening Primrose oil and Ginseng as they may contribute to bruising of the skin
- Consultation – prior to your first treatment, you will have a thorough consultation during which your medical history details will be discussed and recorded to ensure there are no contraindications to treatment
- Photos will be taken – for your client record only
- Your lifestyle will also be discussed to ensure your expectations are managed at all times
- The procedure will be clearly explained
- Together, your practitioner and you will look at your reflection in the mirror and you will be shown how the desired effect can be achieved
- You will be asked to make yourself comfortable on the treatment couch
- The area to be treated will be cleansed
- A numbing cream will be applied to the area
- You will be shown the product
- The product name and code will be recorded on your consultation form
- Once the numbing cream has taken full effect, the procedure will begin
- The practitioner will keep you informed of every step to ensure you’re relaxed throughout the treatment
- Every effort is made to ensure there are no side effects but this will be discussed with you at consultation
- You will see an immediate effect with dermal filler treatments, however, there will be a slight amount of swelling so the full effect will be seen 7 to 10 days after treatment.
After TREATMENT:
- Photos will be taken – for your client record only
- No exercise until 48 hours have passed after treatment
- No saunas, steam rooms or heat treatments for the face until 14 days have passed after treatment
- No facials until 14 days have passed after treatment
- It is recommended that you have treatment at least 2 weeks before going on holiday or to an event, to allow time for the treatment to completely settle
- Do not touch the area as there is risk of infection in the minute injection sites
- Ice can be gently placed on the area (wrapped in a sterile covering) to ease any swelling or discomfort
- If any bruising is apparent, ice (as above) or arnica can be gently applied to the area
- Aftercare will be discussed and a pdf version of the leaflet will be sent to your email address
- You will be given the opportunity to look in the mirror, ready to return to your day
WHAT AGE CAN I HAVE TREATMENT?
We, at Face Code Aesthetic, are aware of the power of influence and the harm it can cause. We are happy to treat clients from the age of 21 years old, provided we feel confident it is in their best interest to do so after a thorough consultation. If our highly trained medical professionals do not feel confident with our client’s request, we reserve the right to refuse treatment.
